| 520 | _aMapping of volcanic activities during eruption is very important to monitor their behavior such as lava flow, pyroclastic flow, mud flow, and so on. Eruption events are usually of short duration. It is very important to obtain information of volcanic phenomenon or damaged area on real time basis in order to predict and prevent calamity that is caused by volcanic eruptions. In this study, a ground fixed single digital camera is used. An automatic mapping system is designed for real time monitoring. This system concurrently produces orthophotos as final out put from digital landscape image. Once a digital landscape image is obtained, a final output is provided concurrently with volcanic activity. A digital photo is rectified onto 3D computer graphics to obtain texture image with fixed location and attitude. This 3D computer graphics is a created from DEM and this is used as reference image. Rectification is done by skyline matching between edge of digital landscape image and edge of 3D computer graphics. Then, the rectified digital landscape image is converted to a orthophoto map using DEM Through this system, volcanic activity is automatically mapped as orthophoto on real time. This system helps chronological change analysis of volcanic activity, especially for sh01i period of time series. Volcanic activities which are mapped by this system would be analyzed by volcanologists to help people escape from hazards in case of volcanic eruption. | ||
