In this paper, we will first review the concept of culture and make a focus on the dimensions of culture from Hofstede (1997). Then we will identify associated design elem.en ts, and discuss the opportunities for enhancing Web communications through cross cultural focuses in order to convert "tourists" or "browsers" to "residents" and "customers."
