Specifically, the rail passengers were classified by f our classes dependent on the level o f fares a nd journey time. The competition effects between modes, losses in passenger revenues of rail due to the opening of the competitive expressway buses, and the possible introduction of a new high-speed railway line in the corridor were discussed. The mod e l s derived f o r each mode were verified and compared.
