Bangkok must learn from the past experiences of industrialized countries before the problem becomes serious. Bangkok currently has a few reports on hazardous waste management. However, there is no specific method to dispose the hazardous waste from different sources. A survey, by questionnaire, of different points of view on hazardous waste management has been conducted. Lack of public awareness and corporate responsibility about the problem are the common symptoms in the private sector; the underenforcement and inconsistency by the government are the problem that Bangkok has to solve in order to overcome the increasing hazardous waste management problem following rapid industrialization. A strategy for hazardous waste disposal is suggested based on the results of this study.
