MPM-MM-CM-21-17Publication details: Pathum Thani, Thailand : Asian Institute of Technology, 2021Description: 72 leaves : ill. + 1 online resourceSubject(s): Online resources: Dissertation note: Project (M. Eng.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 2021 Summary: Myanmar is aiming to develop each sector equally at the moment. The development of Myanmar's infrastructure is crucial for the country's progress in all regions. This research demonstrates how to apply lean management principles to organize an organization in such a way that continual concept improvement is possible for the Yangon-Pyay road concrete expansion project (TikeKyi Tharyarawddy Portion). Minor and incremental process adjustments will be attempted to enhance quality and efficiency using a lean strategy. In the future, the lean concept will be used to reduce waste and enhance procedures. The primary purpose of lean management is to maximize customer value through resource optimization and to maintain a consistent process based on actual consumer requirements. Additionally, it seeks to eliminate waste. The researcher evaluates current project management approaches in road construction projects, as well as ways to introduce lean management. They are site operations management, schedule management, quality management, and machine management procedures. Adopting lean management practices in a business is a concept that is intended to benefit the business and the concept of continuous development. The Toyota Production System, the Last Planner System, and the Kaizen Method of lean management were mainly all investigated in this study. Lean management enables cost savings and the production of consistent, high-quality products and services. Lean management tools are intended to be intuitive and readily accepted by all personnel in a business. Lean organizations strive for a comprehensive and long-term cultural transition as well as continuous improvement. This research examines just current construction and management practices, and only a few types of lean management strategies are applied. Additional lean management techniques might be employed to execute future studies and concepts.
